DARE Lab members attended the 48th Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (IEEE EMBC 2026), held from 26 to 30 July 2026 in Toronto, Canada. Ning Kang, the paper's first author, represented the DARE Lab in receiving Second Place in the 2026 Young Professional Paper Competition organized by the IEEE EMBS MSA Young Professional Committee. The award was presented at IEEE EMBC 2026 for the paper titled "Analysis, Design and Validation of a Portable Power-Bank-Powered Thermoelectric Cooling System for Clinical Rehabilitation," together with Junyi Wei, Yihuan Ouyang, Boran Zhang, Hao Qi, Han Xu, Yuxuan Hu, Zongyou Pan, Haojian Lu, and Hen-Wei Huang.
Wenbin Wei, the paper's first author, represented the DARE Lab in receiving the Best Paper Award for "Fair-Eye Net: A Fair, Trustworthy, Multimodal Integrated Glaucoma Full-Chain AI System." The award-winning work was completed together with Prof. Hen-Wei Huang, Suyuan Yao, Xiangyu Gao, and Cheng Huang.
Haining Zhao was named a Geographic Finalist in the EMBC 2026 Student Paper Competition for the paper titled "CapsuleCoder: A Lesion-Aware Compression Framework for Capsule Endoscopy," co-authored with Tiancheng Cao, Shen Chen, and Hen-Wei Huang.
DARE Lab member Ziyao Zhou delivered an oral presentation titled "A Hybrid BLE–Wi-Fi Communication Architecture for Adaptive Imaging in Wireless Capsule Endoscopy" at IEEE EMBC 2026, sharing his research with the international biomedical engineering community.
DARE Lab member Yunhao Bian delivered an oral presentation titled "A Capsule-Sized Multi-Wavelength Wireless Optical System for Edge-AI-Based Classification of Gastrointestinal Bleeding Flow Rate" at IEEE EMBC 2026.
DARE Lab member Cao Tiancheng delivered an oral presentation at EMBC 2026, presenting his latest research to the international biomedical engineering community.
DARE Lab member Tong Zou presented her poster titled "Bandwidth-Efficient Telepathology Viewing Framework via Detector-Guided Hybrid-Resolution Whole-Slide Image Streaming" at IEEE EMBC 2026.
DARE Lab members gathered during the IEEE EMBC 2026 poster session to present their latest research and exchange ideas with Ceara Berne, a senior postdoctoral researcher at MIT.
Congratulations to Zhou Ziyao for successfully passing the PhD Qualifying Examination at Nanyang Technological University — an important milestone in his doctoral research journey at DARE Lab.

Dr. Dawei Wang participated in the Singapore Scientific Conference (SSC) 2025, presenting his research poster titled "Continuous Ingestible Platforms for Real-Time Gastrointestinal Bleeding Monitoring." Showcased under the conference's Health track, his work highlights innovative advancements in real-time diagnostic technology. By contributing to SSC 2025, Dr. Wang engaged with leading scientists and clinicians, shared insights with attendees, and represented ongoing progress in medical device research.
Congratulations to Cao Tiancheng for receiving the Best Thesis Paper Award from the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Nanyang Technological University.

As a Schmidt AI in Science Fellow, Cao Tiancheng participated in the Oxford–Schmidt RSE Workshop, collaborating with international researchers to develop an AI agent for literature management.
